Shed Clearance

An overgrown garden and exterior of a property ready for a HouseClearances.ie shed and garden clearance

A garden shed is where things go to be forgotten — old paint tins, tools that don't work anymore, a bike nobody's ridden since a previous decade, offcuts of timber "for a project," and whatever wouldn't fit in the house. Most sheds we clear haven't been properly sorted in years. HouseClearances.ie empties them out completely, disposes of what can't be reused properly, and gets the space back to something you can actually use.

What Typically Comes Out of a Shed

Some of this is genuinely awkward — heavy, rusted, half-buried under other items, or simply unpleasant to sort through after years of neglect. That's exactly the kind of job we're set up for.

Why This Job Is Different From a House Clearance

Sheds are typically weatherworn, cramped, and full of items that have been rained on, gone rusty, or partly rotted — different handling from clearing dry household contents. We come prepared for that, and we're used to working around gardens, gates, and narrow side-access rather than a front door.

Responsible Disposal

We separate what can be reused or recycled from genuine waste, and route anything unsuitable through a licensed waste transfer station. Items still in decent condition — working tools, garden furniture — are set aside for donation or resale rather than binned automatically. We're a fully insured waste carrier, and aim for an average recycling rate of up to 95% across everything we clear.

How It Works

  1. Get a quote — a rough description of what's in the shed and its size is usually enough for an estimate.
  2. We agree a time that works for you.
  3. We clear it in one visit, working through the contents and out via garden or side access.
  4. Everything is sorted responsibly — reuse, recycling, or disposal as appropriate.
  5. The shed is left empty and swept, ready for whatever you want it for next.

Often Cleared Alongside

Shed clearance is frequently booked together with garage clearance or as part of a wider full house clearance — if you're clearing more than one space, mention it when you get in touch and we'll quote for the lot together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you take paint tins and chemicals?

Let us know what's in there when you get your quote — we handle this correctly rather than just tipping it into general waste.

Do I need to empty the shed myself first?

No — that's the job. Just let us know roughly what's in there so we can quote accurately.

What if the shed is hard to access — no side gate, tight garden?

Tell us about access when you enquire and we'll plan around it. Awkward access is common with sheds, not the exception.

Got to say Ciprian was fast and thorough. He found rubbish in a shed we'd forgotten about - and offered to take that too - no extra charge. Highly recommend
